In Remembrance Of A Friend

The closest childhood friend I had
Whose name won't be told yet
Was much closer than my mom or dad
Much closer ..... don't forget

A group of kids, count 8 or 9
All gathered in one place
We'd had our fun and all was fine
We'd all just ran a race

The winner? ... memory spins around
To this poem it makes no diff
What matters is the friend we found
Through the simple question ... "If"

Childhood responsibilities
Are few and far between
To the best of our abilities
We acted out this scene

"If a child is born into a place
When no one wants him here
Would it be showing him more grace
To make him disappear?"
